15th October 2009

Mars is celebrating two wins in the finals of the FDF Community Awards. Kay Nicholls, Corporate Affairs, above collected Gold for the company’s UK Volunteer Programme in the Community category.

Shelley Pigott, a community champion at Slough and Kay attended the presentation lunch, which took place in October at the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall. ” I was absolutely delighted to accept the award on behalf of Mars in the UK,” Kay said. “Thanks go to our associates, because it was their volunteering effort that won us this award.”

Last year the Mars Learning for Sustainability community programme picked up a silver award in the Education category

And another…

And as if that wasn’t enough, Mars Chocolate has been presented with another award, from the Slough Business Community Partnership. The business won the company award for 2009 ‘for the difference made to the communities of Slough’. Kay was presented with the award by one of the deputy Lord Lieutenants of Berkshire – otherwise much better known to Mars Chocolate associates as Gordon Storey, who retired four years ago.
