Greater security for women’s refuge
2nd September 2009

Combining team building with a Mars volunteering initiative to help the local charity East Berkshire Women’s Aid was the aim of the Supply Chain Planning Apollo Implementation team one day in October.

Gaetane Finn, Mike Grayton, Heather Priddle and Serhat Sonkur spent an afternoon removing hedges and trees from the front of a EBWA refuge. Taking out the foliage has provided greater security for the refuge, as residents can park closer to the entrance. CCTV cameras now have an unobscured view of the street.

“As well as providing the Apollo team with some healthy exercise, we all got a great sense of satisfaction from helping others,” said Gaetane, business systems analyst with Mars Information Services
